Julian, California is best known for its apple harvest in the fall and the “best apple pie” in the USA. However, the spring is also a fantastic time to visit Julian, as millions of daffodils and lilacs come to live on the hillsides. Julian has great hiking and outdoor activities available as well. This town is filled with quaint B&B’s and great local restaurants, which makes it a perfect get-away destination. For more information, go to www.junianca.com.

Despite the burn damage in many areas, the drive from SD to Julian is scenic. Just watch out for the motorcylclists. It makes for a great day trip.

If you guys like historic places like Julian, go down to Palm Springs. Its only like 2 hours from LA and has a great history with lots to do. Great night life, golf resorts, and very relaxing; little get away from all the hectic city life.
