Museum of Making Music

Included
Entry with the Go San Diego Card
The Museum of Making Music presents an interactive journey through a century of musical instrument innovations that helped shape American popular music—from the invention of the player piano and development of ragtime music in the 1890s to the expressive versatility of modern digital instruments and exploration of new wave music of the 1980s. The museum displays over 500 vintage instruments, offers hundreds of audio and video examples at the touch of a button, and features a unique interactive area where visitors can play on over a dozen instruments including electric drums, a digital piano, a Theremin, electric guitars, and more. By combining the sounds and images of popular music with the progression of instrument design and development, visitors can see, hear, and interact with a century of musical history. Note: Not valid with other offers. Not applicable as admission to special events.
